So after feeling sorry, sore and bruised all of yesterday, I have come to the conclusion that absinthe must only be consumed when you are with people you know really well and trust. I have black holes in my memory of events that occured only 2 days ago..
So I am not drinking for a while and going to be practicing responsible drinking.
I wouldnt say I regret the events of the other evening, but it has left me feeling empty...

Do you want a clown to run your country?
I hope that every Australian uses their right to vote in this up coming election wisely. Electing Abbott to be in power of our nation would be a huge mistake. Not only would Australia's economy go backwards under his leadership; he just doesn't care about the financial welfare or job security of the average Aussie. When discussing Work-Place Laws he says: "Shit happens..."
Abbott also publicly demeans women. We all know what he thinks about a woman's place in society and that it is severely out-dated. But did you know this guy has daughters? It's bad enough that the person running for leadership of our country has backward "gender role" ideals, inline with the 1950's, but what father would want his daughters grow up in a society that emphasises a woman's place as a house wife with only domestic duties to aspire to?
I know what my vote will be when August 21st comes around!

Back to the coast but not to unicentral
Werid feeling as the count down begins to return to the coast. 4 days to go..
But I will not be returning to the excitement of meeting the new-comers at central. The peace and quiet at Mooloolaba awaits... which is what I wanted. Right?
I think I miss UniCentral!
But I think in reality I miss what became of UniCentral last semester. I miss the friends and the good times that were had. Constant change while fun and entertaining at the start becomes hard for those left behind.
Afterall UniCentral is but a place, the friendships made will continue regardless of where we are.

So I'm lying in my bed this morning drinking my cup of tea and eating coconut chocolate (a discovery thanks to ELowe), listening to the storm outside, not yet ready to venture out from the warmth of my bed. And I was thinking; deep down we all know right from wrong, so why do we constantly make wrong decisions? Wrong for us on an individual level, wrong for someone we care about, wrong for our peers or wrong for a by-stander we don't know. On some level our decisions influence the people around us, but generally the one most greatly effected by a wrong decision is ourselves. So why do we do it? I'm not talking peanut butter or vegemite for breakfast, but things that will have some bearing on the future...
I for one am now choosing to make the right decisions in my life that will inevitably impact me and those I love in a positive way.
Today is a New Day!
